Lost Iphone

Hi,

Can anyone please enlighten me ? Thanks in advance for your time.

Is it necessary to make a police report for the lost of IPhone6? The reason? :o

I lost 3 time my iphone. From 4s to 5 and latest is the 5s. The apple "find my device" is to let you lock your device and try to located. It not useless, but don't aspect to get your iphone back. Atleast it never happen on me before. I do make police report online. Also not useless, but the inspector don't help you look for iphone. The police report is good incase there is a murder and your iphone is on the scene. Prevent you from been unnecessary suspect.
So in the end, you will end up getting another phone.

iphone will take a photo of the culprit when he turn off the iphone6
and then sent you a email together with his photo. you can then
hand over this photo to the polis

The lost phone don't even switched on, I have prepared for the worst, just done the SIM replacement, currently will be use back old IPhone 5, if later plan to get another new IPhone then will need to transfer the AppleCare+.

The phone was off before I locked the phone...:(

How the phone will know that person was the culprit? :o

Report is to blacklist imei should it resurfaced in resale market as now shops tt buy in used phone need to keep proper records. But it can be done under table too and get it exported
