Hi all,
Just want to voice my frustration here and warn others about this CITREP+ program from IMDA.
CITREP+ program has being around for many years that encourage Singaporean to get train on IT courses/certification. I have claim for such grant many years ago and recently decided to do the same. This help to reduce the amount of money pay for the certification (I did self-study and just take the certification without the course).
My certification was supposed to be under CITREP program, but offered by some private training center. So when I try to claim from the website (which has locked my account for no reason over 2 years), I have to called the hotline seeking advise on how to claim. To my horrible, the person in charge just does not have the knowledge on the procedure and keep putting me on hold while she check with someone. After over 30 minutes, she told me that the certification which I took and passed is not under their database and so cannot claim for the exam fee. She mentioned I need to sit in both the course and take the examination before allow to claim from CITREP+. How rubbish is this? Does it meant that government does not allow self-study for IT program? Must we behave like government scholar to take the course, and sit the exam????
Anyway, just want to let all people know how inflexible is our government when comes to claiming money from them. Our minister may painted a very nice picture in front of the TV programme, but actual implementation is still done by our "PAPER SCHOLAR/GENERAL" that cannot think straight.
