hi there, please help. i am using an Aftershock laptop with these specs:

intel i7-7700HQ @ 2.80 GHz (8 CPUs)

8gb RAM

GTX 1060 6GB

i can't get more than 50fps on medium to high settings. when i put to lowest i can only hit 70+ fps.

i have tried everything:
1) disabling VSync as well as XBox Live
2) dota 2 set to High priority
3) configured my NVIDIA Control Panel to use the 1060 GTX for my dota 2. with Maximum Performance.

i remember getting 100+ fps on ultra setting previously, either prior to a dota2/windows update. my CPU is running ~ 18% only when running dota 2 so i don't think it is a bottleneck?

i think it's the vulcan shader acting up. Change to dx11 from dota 2 graphic settings

You can try these steps in the following order, moving on to the next point if it does not work.

1. Update windows and gpu drivers to the latest

2. Uninstall dota and reinstall

3. Uninstall and reinstall the graphic driver

4.Run rivatuner and it’s overlay. Check the temps and core speed when playing. It could be that the card / cpu is too hot and is down clocking.

If it is really due to temps, the only way is to reapply a better thermal paste and hope for the best.

If you know how, you can under volt the gpu.

DotA 2 recently uses alot of CPU. Even I am running at close to 80~90% CPU.

hi all, i went to Aftershock's website and downloaded their drivers. updated my laptop chipset drivers and it seems to have worked. i now have a consistent 70-80fps on ultra settings.. not the best but gameplay is quite smooth and probably the best i can get with my 2.8GHz CPU, 8gb RAM?

upgrading to dual channel increased my dota fps by 30+% on a 7700hq 1050ti
sometimes dota update will just cripple the game though, not ur pc problem
