KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital – Singapore’s largest maternity hospital. The hospital’s grounds since its move in 1997 from across Kampong Java Road, it was part of a larger site that was occupied by Bukit Timah Cemetery. Singapore’s third Christian cemetery, it was also referred to as “New Cemetery” when it opened in 1865

The cemetery closed to new burials from 1 January 1910
if heng enough is 160 years wor~

Cannot be haphazardly buried right
Even before PAP there is a government
If not some body must have planned.the burials and roads for the cemetery etc

wait ..
the construction site's not even an ex-cemetery lot right?

why then would those coffins be there? not even a tombstone or anything ..

🤔

The area where Kampong Java Park and the current KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital now stands was an old Christian cemetery called Bukit Timah Cemetry.

The cemetery was exhumed in 1970 to make way for Kampong Java Park – part of which would in the 1990s, be redeveloped for the new hospital, which started operating in 1997

So it’s possible that the tombstone for this particular case was removed during 1970 exhumations without removing the coffin (aka Poltergeist movie)?

Authority better pray pray, say sorry and excuse me before proceed with the arrangements hor. We don't want any frequent delays due to MRT trains, tracks faulty or road accidents.

According to the website i post earlier

The cemetery was exhumed in 1970 to make way for Kampong Java Park – part of which would in the 1990s, be redeveloped for the hospital.

It could be a forgotten tomb that wasn't exhumed in 1970s.

Yes

But things were still done properly if its actual cemetery

I'm highly doubtful its one huge gigantic wild land , near mountain and everyone just bury wherever they want SO LONG as marked clearly and not be an arse and bury on someone

Which means must have proper records etc
Just lost or someone couldn't find it

Wow, only 2 weeks notice for the families to exhume the bodies properly? Where got enough time?

Given that "new cemetery" was built in 1865. That coffin itself could be more than 100 yrs old. Not sure how many descendants still around

The dead people probably thought these are their permanent homes, i.e. free hold lands, so they would be very annoyed if they have to be dugged out , be cremated and put into erns. Bad karma will be foe those who are responsible for disturbance of the dead ones...

the officer in charge of this must be damn sian, do right is like trying to find a needle in a haystack. do wrong........whole family 18 levels might tio cursed like siao lor. :s14:
The karma usually falls on the end user, who is every Singaporean actually, including u and me. Cause the works are for the benefit of Singapore as a whole.
