People also dont understand the no. of cars on road will be much lesser by 2040 due to shrinking of quotas. By then the SG mrt lines will be like tokyo. You will never expect to catch the train straightaway during peak hour. Downtown line already at 99% capacity already. EW line already max out at peak. I missed at two trains.

SG bus services also very bad now. No duplication of mrt routes.

Exactly, the problem is overcrowding due to exploding population. Currently 6m has already past the boiling point with inadequate infrastructure, yet still aiming for 10m.

In Tokyo, when you take their trains, at least there are parallel lines in case things happen, which is very very rare. In sg, we have come to a point where train breakdowns are not even surprising, not even news worthy.

Also in Tokyo, trains are fast, high frequency. In sg, to give a false sense of high frequency, they slow down the trains, longer dwell time in stations. It is obvious.
