For something to overheat, means the current draw must be substantial.

LTA please clarify how much is the power draw when the car is parked, how long can we leave our cars parked before the car battery becomes too weak to start the engine :s11:

Can LTA please quash the rumours that the OBU would suffer permanent damage if internal battery of OBU becomes flat :s11:

You can always disconnect one of the battery wire preferably negative.

A very good point. What is the OBU power consumption during rest? Does it ever switch off? What sort of data does it give away when SPF drive around at night in mscp and scan the devices?
If I’m not wrong, the old iu, the carpark guys can come and scans to check season parking.

Won’t be surprised if one day someone say an authorised agency can go and scan for datapoints

Hybrids has a separate car battery away from hybrids battery.

EV not too sure. Never plan to buy one, so never check.

If your car battery keep dying prematurely u know liao.

On a serious note, maybe we can try using social engineering to fren fren the LTA installers and see if can fish out any useful info regarding this? Or if anyone knows someone working in that line help to ask
