Possible to disconnect the erp if we leave the car in the carpark when travelling overseas for a few weeks?
If parked in full sun in open car park or on top deck of MSCP, car night just catch fire caused by overheating processing unit if there's power supply to it when engine is turned off

For something to overheat, means the current draw must be substantial.
LTA please clarify how much is the power draw when the car is parked, how long can we leave our cars parked before the car battery becomes too weak to start the engine

Can LTA please quash the rumours that the OBU would suffer permanent damage if internal battery of OBU becomes flat

I will say triple of the old one....cos the new system consists of the 1) existing old erp built-in to ensure retro compatibility, 2) new processor to handle GPS satellite and 3) the touch screen

I noticed that the motorcycle OBU did not have antenna. Thus most likely they will not have some function of erp 2.0

I do think the 1pc OBU can be used on motorcycle is just a cover story. The battery in motorcycle is small, thus it cannot install too many accessories that needs power. Thus they omitted certain function to keep the power consumption low for motorcycle.

Cars on the other hand, will get the whole full function of erp2.0. I do suspect the processor will need considerable power. Got to see how they wire all the 3 Pcs of the OBU. Based on the crude pic, I will suspect power source will go into the processor, then the processor will in turn power the display etc.

Thus most likely the processor will have some sort of power storage ie battery inside it. And the processor might have some sort of wireless network cap. Becos GPS antenna does not really need power, the antenna most likely use to tap into some sort of wireless network

The obvious and simple solution to this 3-pc abomination is a 4th. A fan to cool the OBU. Don't have to Cambridge to know all these things.

Your assumption is based on internal heat generation

For something to overheat, means the current draw must be substantial.

LTA’s video already demonstrated that it is from external heat source ie the radiation from the sun.

Firstly, without distance based charging, erp 2.0 itself is a myth. Good suspicion on the bikes limited functions, LTA to clarify. Agree, the system is connected up like a mini desktop PC. In this PC, have a map, Bluetooth and someone suspect got zip drive.
