instead of improving his videos he chose to take down others and this is not the first time as far as I can remember hence I skipped all his videos cos he likes to stir.

he isnt stirring this for the sake of stirring, he is offering constructive criticism for the channel to improve, even saying that this was difficult to make. he also didnt do this to clickbait, having not monetised the video in any way.

There are so many YouTubers doing this kind of things, I am not sayin LTT is innocent but is he going to police them all? or just the popular ones that are his direct competitors?

ltt is popular with not just tech enthusiasts but also regular people who wont bother digging into more technical channels, which means their reach is wider and thus they have a greater responsibility to make sure their content is representative of the product theyre covering, not just hastily going through each one without concern for the correctness of their recommendations.

This is not a matter of opinion eg "I don't like this", there's nothing wrong with that. I don't like the design, I don't like the shape, these are all subjective opinions. I look at a review like that, I see the pictures, if I like the design I will still buy it if the rest of the product is fine.

But when it is flawed testing eg "the product is bad because the numbers say this" when the numbers are wrong then that is a whole different matter. All the people who don't know better may, for example, spend way more money on a 4090 thinking its 3x faster than a 3090 when it's not.

Inaccurate testing is WORSE than no testing, that's why GN is so pissed off.

LTT is no longer like a youtube channel. He has over 200 staffs under him. LTT is a company promoting other people products now.

Yeap, they are a big brand company now.

Profits, partnerships, and corporations come first for them.

Things like being helpful to consumers by providing useful & accurate info aren't as important as the video performance & monetization performance.

Obviously, you didn't bother watching the video as you said you skipped all his videos, at least learn of the situation before making any personal insults.

LTT has 15M SUBS on the main channel alone, without accounting for their various sub-channels. They have 10x more subs than GN or HWU, and LTT is a huge cooperation not just a YT channel like GN/HWU. The things you said won't even matter one bit.

That employee from LTT FIRST publicly committed false accusations against GN/HWU, which directly sabotage the reputation of smaller channels.

On top of that LTT reviews has seemingly way more flaws than compared to GN/HWU, EVEN with the large amount of manpower they have, talk about hypocrisy.

Many of these issues & flaws in LTT reviews are not uncommon has been repeatedly brought up by several tech communities.

Many tech channels don't talk about it simply due to the fear and sheer size of LTT, and they probably want to maintain relations in friendly terms, but shots are fired from LTT side first. Also, it's more than just bad reviews alone as there are ethical concerns.

You might be a boomer that lived with the mindset of turning a blind eye to such actions, especially to those in power, with fear of unrest.

However, times have changed already and people these days are more willing to face up and tackle such issues by being more vocal and less tolerant of such behavior.

When he didn't pay for OCCT and was called out, the response wasn't "we messed up, we'll make it right". It was "here's exactly what I owe and I'm not using your product anymore".

When there was backlash against his expensive backpack with no warranty, the response wasn't "we'll add a warranty", it was "trust me bro".

Now, the response isn't "we made big mistakes", it's "Steve should have approached us first".

His apologies are never "I messed up", it's always some form of "i'm sorry you feel that way, I didn't do anything wrong and it's your fault". It keeps happening so clearly he's not learning from his mistakes.

What are his options? He can sought explanation/justice by directly contacting Linus (thru calling/formal writing) to sort it out and request that he resolve it professionally or he can use a lawyer to lodge a case and go through the legal route. Instead, he chose the "cheaper and immature" way of making a video to call out the accusation (the best he can do?) and what do you think are the repercussions? Endless back and forth, arguments, making more videos about the matter... when is it going to end?

My point here is to go to the appropriate management level (owner to owner) and not to stoop to a level that makes him look like a small kid complaining, if the Linus employee who made false assumptions then its up to Linus to see what to do with his staffs.

You'll know why a video channel doesn't grow when you see the owner doesn't know how to handle things professionally. There are reasons why a small channel remain small because his capability "is up to there" only.
