I am not going into a long debate here but here is my excerpt
Q: what should a channel owner do when another employee of another channel made false accusations towards him/her?
What are his options? He can sought explanation/justice by directly contacting Linus (thru calling/formal writing) to sort it out and request that he resolve it professionally or he can use a lawyer to lodge a case and go through the legal route. Instead, he chose the "cheaper and immature" way of making a video to call out the accusation (the best he can do?) and what do you think are the repercussions? Endless back and forth, arguments, making more videos about the matter... when is it going to end?
My point here is to go to the appropriate management level (owner to owner) and not to stoop to a level that makes him look like a small kid complaining

if the Linus employee who made false assumptions then its up to Linus to see what to do with his staffs.
You'll know why a video channel doesn't grow when you see the owner doesn't know how to handle things professionally. There are reasons why a small channel remain small because his capability "is up to there" only.
lucky he monetised the reply video, still attracted way more than usual viewsNo GN doesn't earn from it, the video performance is about 20x his usual video but it's not monetized.
If you also account for the duration of the video, 44 mins vs ~30mins. It's a VERY big deal for creators.

Many other creators would have shamelessly monetized such videos already.

He can thank Linus for stoking the fire by lashing out with his BS. If Linus trotted out the "I'm sorry, we'll do better" standard corpo-apology and shut up people would have forgiven and moved on.lucky he monetised the reply video, still attracted way more than usual views![]()
Yes. He got a lot of subs.GN's number of subscribers just passed 2 million![]()
He getting the sub is more important than the video monetize. I hope he will get more sub.No GN doesn't earn from it, the video performance is about 20x his usual video but it's not monetized.

Hope this will be addressed next. These are really serious allegations and indicate a lot of things wrong in the company...hm.

didn't your post proved that I am correct? If it is outright defamation, wouldn't leashing out legal lawsuit a proper mode of action? Instead of doing that, by addressing via "public platform" and "reaching out to the community" isn't that causing a stir and emotional backlash? 90% of the audiences out there is just out to watch a show, maybe only 5% pple like you are all-in "For The Tech" while the rest like me dun give any f.Falsely accusing and making public allegations under LTT against YouTube channels like GN/HWU amounts to outright defamation.
In order for HWU/GN to mitigate potential harm to its public image and reputation. It's COMMON SENSE for GN/HWU to promptly address these allegations via a public platform given that their livelihood hinges greatly on public perception.
Seeking a legal approach would not only consume time to establish but also lack the impact to safeguard their reputation as compared to reaching out to the community ASAP.
yeah... I watch LTT shows for entertainment, whats wrong with it? At least they provide me entertainment value.GN's response is as objective as it can be, you are not understanding the context at all and getting personal and hurling insults at others for no good reason just because LTT is your all time favorite childhood hero.
Talk about being a small kid.

as mentioned, there are many ways to solve this amicably but he chose the easiest and the noisiest (stir shiat) way out.Firstly, LTT team didn't act swiftly to handle the situation themselves, allowing the news to spread rapidly.
Are you suggesting the accused leave their reputation to suffer for an unnecessarily drawn out period, allowing themselves to be tramped, and seek permission from the accuser to resolve the matter privately?
The fact that LTT does NOT apologize, and play down the matter after it has been brought to attention already speaks volumes, which is exactly what a kid with a huge EGO would do.
how is that not relevance? Linus has the responsibility for his own staffs action.Your concern about how Linus handles his staff holds no relevance to the matter at hand.
You are looking this episode from the angle as a user, viewer and audience and most pple like you expects drama and more drama. How do you expect this to end up? The reason I stopped watching these videos I know it is just a waste of my time... not going anywhere just like this conversation. I am not sure why I even bother to reply and answer.GN and HWU are considered smaller channels due to their focus on a specialized technical audience.
On the other hand, LTT functions as a corporation and deliberately produces content with a strong emphasis on branding and entertainment to attract a broader audience.
The distinction lies not in how things are managed professionally, but rather in the parties' respective approaches. Besides, It's evident which party is avoiding the issue and failing to address it directly.
When GN publicly addresses these allegations, it demonstrates a commitment to sincerity and integrity within the community. This is on top of not monetizing the videos that gained more than 20x views than their usual content.
In contrast, linus appears to be hiding behind his own community forum and downplaying it. Again, the way this matter has been handled raises questions about LTT ethics which has often been brought up as a topic by tech communities and also by GN in the video.
What more is there to say? It's all evident, and clear as day.

a bit lo soh video but he speaks about the PC Enthusiastic Creator niche industry 惡性循環 (watch till the end).
thanks to this video, at least now I get to know the long hair freak name is "Steve Burke"
Yeah... It doesn't help that Linus is very emotional and don't always think clearly with his initial response, especially with phrasing and attitude. LTT's first statement should not have been on a forum where it can be easily buried.LTT just seems like one of those rapidly extending company with poor internal processes and QC.
yes my point of attaching the video is this industry (as with others) is toxic, it is a vicious cycle... you call out others one day others will get back at you. Affiliate marketing, referrals, product sponsorship, endorsements and referrals are how these channels live and earn a living, they'll do what they can to get the maximum benefits. What's with the name-calling? It sounds personal lol...
Also for the video you linked, the creator harping on ethics is a very ironic situation when he's sponsored and promotes a website that resells keys that are of unverified sources, at best bulk volume license and at worst possibly from illegal methods. Yes, he did say he will stop working with them if proven wrong but I think he got the priority all wrong. The fact that it's ambiguous about the sources of the licenses that they sell makes it MORE unethical and in my opinion, the responsibility is on him to verify when it's been proven that key reseller sites (e.g. G2A) like these do sell keys that comes from straight out illegal sources.
