Hi all,
i'm planning on a day trip to Lu Kang when I visit Taiwan during Dec this year with my family (14 pax including 2 elderly). Will be going during the weekday to avoid the weekend crowd.
1) Plan to reach the old street around 11.30-12pm to settle our lunch and walk around the area (11.30am to 2pm)
2) go visit Ribbon King museum or Brand's Health Museum (2.30pm to 3.30pm) (which museum would you recommend for those who had been to both?)
3) go to Taiwan Glass Gallery (4-5.30pm), Taiwan Glass Temple (5.30-6pm to take photos during sunset)

What is the travel time from Taichung to Lukang? What time does the shops in Lukang normally open? can I go earlier to spend more time there and allocate more time to the afternoon places?
any night market/recommended eatery around Lukang where I can grab dinner before going back to Taichung?

Thanks.

Travel time from taichung hsr to lukang about 45 mins by the local lukang,彰化 bus.
Shops do open early but you find many closed as no crowd on weekdays.
Night market at lukang, doubt do. Better off back to fengjia night market in Taichung before it gets too late to get out.

You will be hiring a driver i suppose as the Glass Gallery and Temple is not near but worth going. Been there before and it was a great.

You need transport to BRAND factory as well and they will give you sample after the trip (someone will guide you for the factory tour)

Thanks to Calkel20 and Wildkev for the reply.

The elders don't like too much crowd that's why I going on weekday. just walk around, look at the traditional Taiwan houses and go to the Tian Hou Temple and Long Shan Temple. and of course to enjoy the food/snacks and go into whatever shop that is open along the way.

Wildkev, Will be looking for a driver with coach/bus for the day. The glass gallery is the main place which I wanted to go during this trip out to Lukang. Which would you recommend between the Brands and Ribbon King Museum to go before the Glass Gallery coz don't know if there's enough time to visit all 3 places. Do we need to call up or can just walk in to tour around?
Any special place in Lukang which you think is a must-go?

Thanks.

For me must go in the Glass Temple. LOL. I think there isnt much things at Lu Kang or maybe I did not explore much that time as I was only there for half day since it is part of my trip for 2D1N stay in Chung Hua. My purpose was to meet a friend there during that time.

I am suppose you are chinese, if not sorry about that as the 2 links shown below are all in Chinese.

Thanks wildkev,
I've read the Lukang1 as a general guide for planning my Lukang trip. will be reading up Lukang2 for the food stores although I guess we will certainly be having more than those recommended.
Saw another place which we might go - 桂花巷藝術村, looks interesting.
More or less settle my day trip in Lukang before going back to Taichung for a night market dinner :s13:

Thanks
