For crucial, contact crucial USA and once approved, they will send you a RMA slip to be printed out and pasted on the front of package. SSD/RAM are small items, so send to them via singapost registered mail cost <$10 sgd. Will take about 1-2 weeks.

Then send back an email to them on tracking number for their tracking. Once received at their end, they will process. Once approved, they wil send back to your provided SG address under their cost and its very fast de, ard 2-4 days after email sent.

Above is based on my experience of RMA-ing MX100 500gb and gotten back MX200 500gb coz MX100 EOL le.

Both this Intel NVME SSD and Crucial P1 are using QLC (norms are TLC), thus the TBW is much lower (both 100TBW). Imo i wld recommend paying a bit more for corsair mp300 480GB using TLC.

I used a crucial mx100 512gb ssd on my work laptop for about 3 years. Ran VMs, copying big chunkw of VMs to/fro. Write is only about 12TB(out of a rated write life of 72TB) n with still a health of 97%.

Normal desktop users shouldn't have to worry about endurance

At USD110, I'd personally take a punt with Amazon Warehouse's like-new 860 Evo at the same price even though it's not NVME

write endurance isn't an issue because companies typically under report it. most drives are mlc/tlc. even the worst budget drives will survive 100-200 tb (with a guaranteed write endurance of <100 tb). >300 tb is not uncommon. the 850 pro has 150tb guaranteed and did 9.1pb in tests.

but now intel is using qlc with a guaranteed write endurance of 100 tb. means they are using worse tech while claiming higher endurance. if anything this is probably very close to the actual limit, which indicates the drive probably wouldn't last under heavy load

more importantly, the 660p performance is bad because it uses qlc, and has to rely heavily on caching and cell mimicking slc

to the point it becomes slower than a disk drive at 50% capacity with ~40-75gb cache filled. latency is terrible, and it loses almost all 4k/128k tests

i don't know how "average" is their target market

but expecting ppl to have ~235gb of stuff doesn't sound typical

just buy a standard ssd and get standard ssd performance rather than this
