Interesting.

oic. Thanks.

problem is the availability of the media... :s22:

these days everything throw to private/pubilc/hybrid cloud storage with high availability and redundancy which is why optical media market is dying....

even microsoft and other large software vendors are also push everything to ISO and file repository.... no longer a need for optical media.... ;)

My dvd-drive just refused to recorgnise disc, not even audio cd. So, I am thinking of getting ASUS DRW-D5MT, or just a normal DRW-D3ST (forget about m-disc)

Sort of in quite some form of delima. Frankly, I prefer optical storage. hdd data can be loss around 5 years, while ssd data can be loss around 10 years. DVD also arround 10 years.

Shall I just back up my photos on another hdd/sdd, or invest on m-disc? m-disc price is somewhere between hdd and sdd, but the time needed for backup is 10x/100x more?

Any suggestion is much appreciated.
