I have a m-itx mobo from the alienware x51 which I think only supports 1 case fan and 1 cpu fan. Could a fan controller help if I were to change a case that can accommodate multiple case fans? Are there any restrict? Alternatively, could I use a splitter and not hurt my mobo?

As long as ur fans dun pull more than 1A per fan header, it would be fine if u use splitter to connect a few together.

so if i have 2 fan headers, 1 header for a 12v case fan + cpu cooler and the other for 2 12v case fan then that should be ok right? SLS got sell these splitters?

Each fan have different power rating. U can either calculate with 1A or 12W. AS long as ur fans for 1 fan header dun exceed these amounts, it should be fine. Also, as a general rule of thumb, leave a 10% buffer since some fans will spike a little when turned on.

SLS do sell, but quite ex. U can try find t258jgn. He does delivery.

Yeah, it will be voltage controlled and connected directly to PSU. Most FC have 10W per channel.

an easy way is to buy a case with built in FC. Fractal cases are like tat. their FC controls 3 fans. for splitter, try to get those hubs. it will be neater. Deepcool has one for 4 fans. can try PC themes.

will the hub then take it 4 fans and connect to 1 fan header?

yes, i've done that. but as someone said, make sure don't exceed 1A. most cases won't but just do yr due diligence.

Bro if you're getting a mid tower atx and want good cooling, fan controller is a good investment. Of course it depends on how much modding you plan for in future and how much control over the fans you want
