M1 Data Passport

If i subscribe to M1 China data passport, do i still need to get separate VPN?
Some members here said no need. But I just use online M1 customer service chat, they say must get own VPN in order to access Google, Gmail, FB, Youtube, Whatsapp etc

Can anyone confirm which is correct? Thanks

Strange thing for the M1 customer service to say, since the main advantage with using our local telco's roaming services is to be able to retain FB, Whatsapp and Google services while roaming with our existing number, and cheaply too.

No need VPN in china if you using sg mobile network. I used my m1 and simba in china last week. Everything works fine. Google, fb, WA, telegram etc..

Yes, no need. Just turn on roaming. Data passport is too expensive imho.

Hi, anyone can confirm Google timeline will work on M1 data passport? I'm using a SIM card bought from ICC, it's on China network and I notice my Google timeline has gone missing.

f I recall correctly, no issues with M1 data passport as you are on data roaming. Google and WA all work fine.

SG roaming in China will work without VPN, just FYI for those that pop by to this thread.
