M1 eSIM and data roaming support

Was thinking to use M1 eSIM with my iPhone XS max so I contacted M1 technical support. Thought it'd be a great idea to free up the physical sim slot for free TPG sim, but was told by M1 support eSIM currently only supports limited overseas countries for data roaming. Apparently only 10 countries - USA, UK, India, Spain, Canada etc. And no Asian countries are supported.

So if you are considering eSIM with M1 just make sure you don't rely on it for data roaming!

You mean India is not Asian country?

I got my m1 esim for use on my iPhone XR, and went to Taiwan on 16 Dec.. I was able to turn on Data Roaming Passport with no issue.

Subsequently, I bought a local Taiwan Sim, plugged it in the physical slot, and I could use it for phone and data, no problems...

I was able to roam to China on esim without any issue.
