Nice, now you have faster WiFi speed along with 5G speed.

With MediaTek 9500 Chipset in your new Vivo X300 Pro phone, I tend to think you can beat 4Gbps with the Archer BE805 router (MediaTek Filogic 880 chipset).

MediaTek 9400/9500 chipset WiFi 7 enabled mobile phones will be the best match with Archer BE805.

1) MediaTek 9400
https://www.mediatek.com/products/smartphones/mediatek-dimensity-9400
Achieve considerably faster connectivity speeds with Wi-Fi 7 that can address all three bands (2.4GHz, 5GHz, 6GHz) simultaneously, unlike competitor flagship smartphone platforms that can only connect to two at once.
  • Up to 7.3Gbps Wi-Fi data rate
  • Wi-Fi 7 tri-band concurrency with 5-streams (2x2 + 2x2 + 1x1)
2) MediaTek 9500
https://www.mediatek.com/products/smartphones/mediatek-dimensity-9500
  • Up to 20% faster large file throughput speeds*
  • MediaTek Connect UltraSave - 20% Wi-Fi power savings with AI traffic prediction for media streaming*
  • Up to 7.3Gbps Wi-Fi data rate
  • Wi-Fi 7 tri-band concurrency with 5-streams (2x2 + 2x2 + 1x1)
what's the record download speeds now liao ar?

Hi. That means topup $9 for Asus RT-BE92U will be $39.90 per mth for new signup correct? My house renovation will be ending soon need to signup for new broadband plan. I was looking at the $34.90 6gb plan with the Asus RT-BE92U router previously. Is tis consider a good promotion?

S$30.9 per month 10Gbps plan without router is a good one for those who want to use their own router.

S$34.90 per month 6Gbps plan with free TP-Link Archer BE895 or Asus RT-BE92U is a better plan for those who want to get the router. But M1 has raised the price consistently in 2025, to S$36.9, then S$38.9 and now S$40.90 per month, making it less and less attractive.

No real life difference between M1 6Gbps plan and 10 Gbps plan for 99% of the users.

Yes. I agree. Too late now for me. The promotion for $34.90 6gb Asus RT-BE92U is over. Therefore have to go for the 10 Gbps plan.

You wanna stretch your money, then only way is to sign new fibre plan on the last day of the promo and select the fibre appt to the furthest possible date that M1 possibly allow (cos the installation date is the contract start date of the new fibre plan).
The question was not for me but for arrakis. I don't need to stretch my dollar. Previously, I let my old and new plans overlap so I guarantee zero service disruption before terminating old plan. I rather pay for peace of mind.

What is your last Asus model?

TP-Link Archer BE230 is a super low end dual band WiFi 7 router (BE3600 rated). The main good thing is dual 2.5G ports.

Did you get 2.4GHz signal or 5GHz signal last time?

In general, WiFi 7 routers often have lower 2.4GHz coverage based on the testing reports of XCG (晓春哥).

If user1 existing contract ends 1 Feb 2026, is it possible to sign up new user2 and start the service on 1 Feb 2026 at the same address?

What is the maximum lead time allowed?

Ok, I think my question is not clear. I think I answer my own question.

It is not possible for user2 to sign the $30.90 10Gbps plan now because user1 existing contract ends 1 Feb 2026, the earliest sign up for user2 will be Jan 1 2026 as M1 installation slots is only opened 1 month ahead. i.e. M1 only allows booking of installation slots 30 days from sign up date. User2 must choose the installation date at the point of sign up.

Current use is for casual web browsing, streaming, YouTube, across 10 devices all on wifi (phones/tablets/laptops) so 1-2 days downtime is immaterial. I choose $30.90 because it is the cheapest (ONT + free digital line), not because it is 10Gbps. I don't care about 9999mbps speedtest.

Why would broadband be unstable for the initial period of new contract? Using back the same wireless router with 2.5Gbps port with no lan wiring. Only ONT will change right? Again, I don't care about 9999mbps speedtest.

It is possible to sign up a 2nd line as long you don't need to coincide with the end of the existing plan. It is a separate contract and uses the 2nd port on the termination point , no conflict with the existing plan at all. The only concern would be if the 2nd port is not immediately available for activation and have to wait due to "insufficient capacity". Once you have the new line up and running, you can inform M1 to terminate the exisiting plan upon contract expiry.

I am not saying the broadband will be unstable for the new contract. In case there is an actual problem, you can still fallback on the existing line, no need to worry about getting stuck without internet. But IF you don't need the backup of the old plan, you can just sign up according to your schedule.

M1 has raised the price of 6Gbps plan (with free TP-Link Archer BE805 or Asus RT-BE92U) gradually in 2025.

1. M1 6Gbps plan new user pricing

From S$34.90 to S$36.9, then S$38.9 and now S$40.90 per month, making it less and less attractive.

Sometimes they have physical shop offer with S$2 OFF though.

If at S$40.90 per month for 6Gbps plan, then no point already, since 10Gbps plan new user Christmas offer is at S$30.90 per month. You can choose to top up S$9 per month for Asus RT-BE92U or S$10 per month for TP-Link Archer BE805.

2. M1 6Gbps recontract promotion:

S$32.90 per month in Jan/Feb 2025, later S$34.90 and S$36.90 per month. Not so sure about the good promotion now. Without promotion then it is not really worth it at S$47 per month.

Just wondering if any one here still get good M1 6Gbps recontract offer at S$36.90 per month or even S$34.90 per month. Thanks.

and so will the deal :ROFLMAO:

I tend to think there may well be better deals along the way.

Based on the latest Financial reports, StarHub may have to be even more aggressive in terms of offerings for Fibre Internet (StarHub, MyRepublic and now also eight) and Mobile services (StarHub, giga, eight).

So the combined M1/SIMBA will need to be competitive as well. Take note SIMBA fibre broadband subscriber numbers are very small (can be considered as negligible), unlike the mobile side.

Even SingTel has to be more competitive even though they are just too stubborn to stick to ONR on the fibre broadband side.

Eight is not that cheap at S$28.80 per month without router, actually more expensive than SIMBA 24 month contract plan but cheaper than SIMBA 12 month conntract plan.
https://www.eight.com.sg/home-internet-roi
https://www.simba.sg/broadband

Main good thing is the 18% discount for Eight 5G plan users and 12 month contract.

If you are okay with 24 month contract, no point to look at Eight Home Internet. Starhub proper is cheaper and better.

Starhub 3Gbps plan with free HB410 -- S$29.95 per month.
Starhub 10Gbps CIS offer or giga new user offer -- S$33.59 with free HB710
Starhub 10Gbps Recontract offer -- S$30.49 or S$33.59 with free HB710

Went to M1 store to recontract to 10 GB since today is the first day of the 20th month.

Ask the m1 staff for honest advice whether I should recon to 10gb at 34.90 or wait. She told me not to recon and wait for the 22nd to 23rd month which is next year Feb or march. She say M1 normally will send SMS for some account promo to recon to keep hold of the customer and price might be better. She cited now got so many competitors this promo for next year might be better and don't kanchiong to recontract. The Simba acquisition also will be next year Feb to march so maybe might have diff or better promos to compete with other internet providers..

So I decided..to wait haha...

yup. Best to wait. I did that too last year when my contracted ended in November. Back then they had 2.5gbps for $39.99 and 3gbps for $45+. I was on 1gbps and i resisted as i do not want to go to 2.5gbps with GPON.

Come January, i strike gold, M1 emailed targetted customers like me to recontracted to 6gbps for $32.90 with free TP-Link Be805. I went straight into it.
