Hey

Anyone here using M1 Mac MINI on a 4K Display (LG Monitor) and encounter screen flickering? Flickering get worst when you have a black background or while playing a YouTube video with black background)

The same Monitor, HDMI cable on a Windows PC 4K @ 60hz don't have issue.

- replaced with another 4K HDMI cable
- Change from 60 to 30hz
- Play around with Colour Profile
- Try USB C > HDMI out (same issue)

Already on Monterey 12.2.1

How about hooking up your M1 Mac Mini to a UHD TV? Just to check if it’s not an issue with the HDMI port on your Mac Mini.

All these symptoms, i.e. flickering, blacking out momentarily, generally points to the lack of bandwidth based on my experience. So the bottleneck could either be the Type C port, the adapter or the cable. Having said that, I was able to use my MBA M1 on my 4K monitor with a direct USB type C to type C connection, without any issues. I just can’t recall if it ran at 4K @ 60Hz or 4K @ 30 Hz.

depends what u looking for
Am looking at 32 inch, 4K connecting to a MBP 14”. For photo editing and office work mainly. Will need a webcam to go with the monitor at some point.
I plan not to use the MBP power brick and Type C is a must. The Dell seems to be 90W compared to LG 60W

if budget wasn't a concern, go for the 5k LG or apple monitor. not many choice if u wanted retina display.

dell was good if u need the KVM function.
90w or 60w wasnt a big issue to me. i was on 60w all the time with caldigit element

I also encountered this on my 2018 MacBook Pro
Many many times the screen will like turn off for a few seconds, then turn on again. happened many times already. Then the whole cycle repeats and repeats. Damn frustrating. Not sure exactly what is wrong

My output is a 29” ultra wide screen LG monitor
Using ugreen usb c to hdmi connector and ugreen hdmi cable.
I tried to hook my office lousy laptop to the monitor and it works like a charm. Not sure whether it is due to any settings?
