Sorry for late reply. Did not realise I accidentally ignored this thread so did not see your query till now.

I paid $12 for the $12 plan. Guy said he normally ask people to get the $15 plan but I told him $12 plan good enough.

I told the shop I want to port in from Simba. He said he will charge $10. So I said then I do it myself. But at least he confirm I can do it using the app.

I port in same day. As shared earlier, I got the card then went nearby to try out on a spare phone that I brought along. Tested calling and SMS in and out to my phone. Tested the data.

All ok then I download the app. Checked the usage has the correct data, call and SMS for $12 plan.

45 min after I got the sim card I request for port in via the app at 3.45pm. Port in started at 11pm same day. Next morning port in completed.

I think there should be a cutoff time for same day port in. Not sure what time for M1 maxx.

Don't cut it so close. Just in case port in failed, give some extra days to retry. I believe Singtel will refund prorated unused days. You can call them to confirm. Just make sure you are not in contract on date of port in.
so if my contract ends on 11 jan, i can only port in on 12 jan right?

Yes. Because port in takes place at 11pm. If you port in on 11 Jan, Starhub side will be terminated on 11 Jan 11pm which you are still under contract.

So port in on 12 Jan. There is a cutoff time for same day port in. Best to request in the morning or early afternoon.

I want to get the free base plan for my kid. No need much data now, just for us to call them.

I heard they recycle old numbers? Any idea how to get a fresh number... don't want to have nonsense people calling my kid.

I'm open to signing up other no-contract first then port in, any suggestion which mvno/telco higher chance of getting fresh numbers?

TIA!

Hmm... (*I'm holding the Online Recurring $14 Plan),

I just finished chating with 1963 on how do I buy the $12 Plan in the "Buy" tab while I'm on Recurring $14 Plan.

The CSO told me this:

"You don't have to cancel the Recurring $14 Plan. You just need to buy the $12 Plan in the "Buy" Tab now. When your next Recurring $14 Plan is subject to renew next month. The $12 Plan from the "Buy" Tab will replace the Recurring $14 Plan from then onwards!"

Makes sense?  I just wanna save the $2 so that I can eat one more McChiken burger per month! :) Time is tough!
I think you can eat only 2/3 McChicken, it is $3+ now...

Okay!

Just checked. My $14 Recurring Plan will cease on 07-01-2024 as per my request on 13-12-2023.

So, I shall Buy the $12/120GB plan on the 7th Jan 2024 to continue my lover with Maxx! :)

If they have 100GB for $10 will be good news. Can save another $2 and match Simba gangs

I bought a $12 Maxx card on Sunday but only slotted sim card into phone Wednesday
(i) app shows expiry date is 30days starting from Sunday
(ii) used about 2 GB so far but Maxx app still shows 0 usage

is this normal?

Normal. Don't worry.

It takes a few days to be updated in Maxx App.

With Maxx superb network quality as far as I'm concerned.

I'm more than willing to let them earn my $2 per month.

Don't forget that its $12 gives 120GB. So, I think it is very value for money on paper already even though we hardly use more than 30GB or even 20GB per month.
