That's strange, coz twice last month for 2 different numbers, I bought $10 plan from Shopee and each started immediately. The old plan for each was still running and I only realized when it ended, that the new plan's expiry isn't 30 days away but shorter.

It's only when I went back to the Shopee seller's note that I realized I forgot about having to input my intended start date, so they started after order was accepted. Been a while since i last had an active Maxx line.

I guess you could've bought from Shopee and such instead of from the app.
Shopee will be retailer plan right ?
Maxx mentioned that online and retailer cannot mix, so if that is true means someone using online plan cannot buy from shopee ?

Ah, these 2 lines that I mentioned are from retailerrs...

Online plans are recurring so offhand I guess the duration of credit card deduction won't change, even if you can get another plan to start in between... I'll have to look into that...

For the record, online exclusive plans bought through the Maxx app cannot stack or replace an ongoing plan.

Ouch. That is a pretty significant penalty then.

But if understanding it correctly, that behavior is termed stacking, at least that is how eight describe it.

So the difference between online & retailer plan :
How does maxx road show or M1 shop counts ?

Retailer : buy at retailer
Does not automatically since there is no payment info, at end of 30 days goes into base plan
If you buy a plan on the app, you can add a CC at this point, as well as option to auto renew
New plans bought takes effect immediately, unless another date is specified.

Online : order online.
Renews automatically, credit card needs to be entered at point of purchase, cannot be removed ?
New plans bought stacks behind existing plan, will NOT take effect immediately.

Let me add one more statement, in a different color font.

Does not seem to have the option to add credit card info, from the app :look:

my m1 maxx line was bought from retailer, then I port my wife's heya number to m1 maxx (all under my name).

Recently I renew the $10 plan using the app, and can add my credit card details in the app for recurring payments.

Thank you for sharing this info! (y)

I went to check my lines again.

The one that's a port-in has the option to add a card.

The one that's from a retailer just prompted Warning: blah blah with no option. I guess I'd have to port a number to take over, also since the original number has been getting too many spam stuff.

🤞🤞

Was this option to add credit card occurs when you buy a plan ?
If so perhaps the only way to add a card is to buy a plan ?

Confirmed line on base plan cannot roam. :o

Has a line I hardly use that I topped up previously forgetting to indicate the intended start date. It went into base plan and I forgot all about it, thus wondering why my other Maxx line switched to CelcomDigi so easily at 2nd Link aka KSAB.

Line came on instantly after I got a new plan.
