thank you, might be switching out. Anyway expiry of this plan is 7 Nov. i wonder if i port out tomorrow, 5 Nov, would it be okay? or should do today and waste 3 days worth of remaining credits?
They charge the bill 1st of the month to my knowledge .. it is up to you to keep the credits or go ahead.

Checking back to this thread after a while and noticed quite a sentiment shift. For me personally, Maxx $10 5G SA served me alright. I can definitely feel that its reception is weaker than the Singtel MVNOs, but not to the degree of unusable. But if I were to jump ship again, what are some of the good options? Those "free X months" are not bad, but I just jumped from ZYM so it is likely I'm not eligible? Again, I'm ok to stay with Maxx (or at least until the Sintel MVNOs moved to 5G SA?) if that's the logical/cost effective option for me.

My track record has been:
Late October 2024: Jumped from Zero1 to ZYM.
Late August 2025: Jumped from ZYM to Maxx.

Thanks in advance.

Actually maxx is not bad except their 4G is quite unstable. This is why most of us jumped, and we jumped to zero1 cos’ of the 6 mth free promo. now no more already though.

if u can get good 5G and 4G signals, then dun jump.

1. Haha, maybe I should also accelerate my test plan (to try out non-SingTel networks, without changing my main SingTel SIM Only S$15.28 per month line) and try M1 maxx as well.

Current testing plan:

1) Eight S$8 per month 4G plan (just started yesterday), I will keep it for at least two months or longer.

2) StarHub (Star) Prepaid Plan S 5G at S$10 per month, once my StarHub Prepaid Card gets converted to this plan automatically later this month or next month.

3) M1 Maxx (initial plan is in Jan 2026)

4) SIMBA (initial plan is in Jan 2026)

5) No plan to check out Singtel Gomo, Heya or Zym/Zero1/CMlink as I am already using Singtel network with my Singtel SIM Only main line.

2. For those who want to jump out of M1 Maxx and go with SingTel MVNOs, but miss the Zero1 promotion, you can still check out Zym (reported to extend the offer to 15 Nov 2025), VIVIFI and CMLink (until further notice).

You're on the best network already. Testing others will not make u happy. Haha.

My experience with m1 4g is not too bad. There is a number of times it works when Singtel doesn't.
But singtel coverage is certainly better overall.

Haha, first day of Eight 4G is positive, found a few places where Eight 4G is better than SingTel 4G/5G in the workplace (West Area, Industrial Building).

Now I "downgrade" my SingTel SIM Only 5G to 4G (force the phone to 4G LTE) to have the apple to apple comparison. Using the same Poco X7 Pro. I just switch between the two: mainly using Eight 4G, but occasionally switching to Singtel 4G to carry out comparison testing.

Just signed up M1 Maxx S$10 per month 5G plan with physical SIM since my current phone (Poco X7 Pro) and backup phone (Poco X4 GT) both do not support eSIM.

I am also buying an eSIM adapter from Taobao for testing as well, but that will take time to arrive.

what's a esim adapter?
Based on Google AI:

An eSIM adapter for Android is a hardware device that fits into a physical SIM card slot and allows non-eSIM-compatible phones to use eSIM functionality. It acts like a physical SIM card but converts digital eSIM profiles into a format the phone can read, enabling the use of multiple carriers and plans on any device, not just those with a built-in eSIM chip.

How it works
  • Digital-to-physical conversion: The adapter contains a special chip that reads digital eSIM profiles, which are typically downloaded via an app. It then converts these credentials into a signal that a traditional SIM card reader can understand.
  • Insert into your phone: You insert the adapter into your phone's physical SIM card tray, just like a regular SIM card.
  • Use an app to manage eSIMs: You use a dedicated app on your phone to download, manage, and switch between different eSIM profiles. The app handles the activation and configuration of the eSIMs.
  • Move between devices: You can easily move the adapter from one device to another, transferring your eSIM profiles with it, much like swapping a physical SIM card.
This is a great invention as it allows swapping freely any eSim. Xiaofan u r exploring a godsend product. No more hijacking of device by eSim. šŸ˜
