I think Maxx is really complicating matters with different plans for their direct online platform and authorized retailers. All the plans should be standardized, no matter where one purchases.

Anyway, my first time trying.

I just bought the discounted $12/120/2 plan from Shopee to be activated on 07 Jan 2024 only! :)

It is reflected in the Maxx app right away! :giggle:

IMO Maxx is as complicated as one likes it to be. If one has no interest, one will never bother to understand its structure unless only to want to criticize it further.

I'd not touched Maxx previously because what I saw back then was that one HAS to buy it from a retailer/dealer, and that's something that I'm not comfortable with unless it happens to be an existing shop with other business that I've patronize before or a shop in the neighborhood that's been there for many years.

Maxx caught my interest only recently when I happened to come across it directly on M1's website. From there, for the sake of saving some $, I became willing to look at their retailers and those online (read. those. reviews.) that come with a discount.

Negative reviews on the network everywhere? Of course, when I'm unhappy about something/someone and getting really frustrated, I'd want to find an avenue to vent it out. But if it works for me, it gives me something to turn my attention to (like happily surfing away with it), then it'll come a time when I get too lazy/preoccupied to partake in trying to convince anyone that it does work for others.

Do I understand Maxx myself? Not sure actually... I know you either get a package with the SIM card FOC online, or go to a retailer to get something that they're offering and since they've to pay rent and stuff, they might want to charge you an extra something... or maybe not.

I recall when they started, it was targeted to be low cost plan for foreign workers. Hence the need for retail shops to sell and do topup.

When I was at the shop, saw an auntie doing topup there.

So they might have different plans for different target customers.

Definitely, especially MVNOs have all different price plans but they don't choose different plans for different platforms. This is something Maxx has to change, all the plans should be available across the board. 😀
