hello guys,

This is the free 500mb data sim card which M1 gives us along with the its home broadband.
Anybody has tested this sim card recently for overseas roaming?
Not data roaming, but simply to recieve SMS OTP which overseas.

I don't think it'll work for overseas roaming.. Yes it's a mobile SIM card which can make calls and receive sms and data.. but I doubt it is usable overseas to send/receive sms.. I maybe wrong thou.

I check on the M1 app. Don't seems to have option to sign up roaming. So don't think the sim card can work outside Singapore

i dont get it, how come can receive sms 1? really can, even if not provided?

the fact that u can't port the number tagged to the sim card means it shouldnt have normal call/sms function?

It has a number attached to it. So it works like a normal SIM in SG. U can make calls which are chargeable. U can send sms which is chargeable too. You can receive sms which is free. I haven't had anyone calling me so idk if incoming is free or chargeable.

This is based in SG solely. I didn't bring this SIM card overseas but I doubt it can work cos usually data plan shouldn't have auto roaming by default cos the card is supposed to be for SG use only.

This is my knowledge..pls correct me if I'm wrong bro

The SIM cannot work overseas.

I tested when I was based overseas, the SIM can't even lock onto overseas GSM network

My M1 SurfValue 500MB can subscribe to Pay Per Use Roaming last time (and connect to CELCOM) last time before COVID. Never test now alr, but still can see the option to subscribe still in MyM1 app.

Best not to use for overseas roaming. Its pay per use per roam, or you will need data passport subscription. The free 500MB is mostly for local use and backup in case your Fixed Broadband goes down.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I am using this sim only to recieve OTP and not for data or calls while roaming. My main SG sim is circles flexi doesn't even have OTP while roaming.

Since you are/were in India, have you tried login any Sg banking website or do something to try receive SMS OTP?
I actually brough this M1 surfvalue SIM during an oversea trip in 2019 for receive OTP in case I need to do online purchase, but I can't remember clearly now. I remember asked M1 hotline before this SIM can receive incoming free SMS when oversea.
