Hi guys!

I would like to trade in my phone with M1, to those who had trade in your phone with them before, can you share with me how do they usually check the phone? skip the exterior checking part. Do they just check if your phone is able to power up or they will do some functionality check of the phone?
Anyone can enlighten? :)

Never trade in before as I normally sell them off at Carousell. But I saw a checking service before. Not sure if it is the same at every shop. They do a service check like those from service Centre where they type in codes to enter the Service Menu and do a thorough check on all the phone functions.

It is actually better off selling it online and not trade in. Telcos will take in at much lower prices than you sell outside.

Yea i know. but i tried to sell outside, they rejected. so im praying trade in will take it. thats why im curious what kind of check the telco will do to determine whether the phone can be trade in

The software issue maybe you can use Samsung KIES (PC/Mac) to reset and see if it still happens. Just be warned that the application is kind of shitty with lags even on a decent Windows machine expected.

I've done everything i can. i did factory reset and even update the firmware but it doesnt work. i understand the conditions stated on the site, i have already seen it. but im just wondering if they will conduct a functionality check on the phone or just check if the phone can be power up.

all the telcos will examine the following:

1) LCD not cracked/damaged
2) able to make incoming/outgoing calls
3) completed with charging unit
4) battery supplied (if its removable)
5) able to power up and power down.

if you cannot power up already, i don't think they will take in. Unless you meet a chin-chai person, that person might not check and just minus off the cost for you..

I had freezing issues with my note 4 randomly and sometimes had to remove battery to reboot. Worse is reboot then kena robot screen, cannot start up, must try a few times then can. I went to m1 to trade in too.

They did quite a thorough check and heng my phone passed the check. They check whether phone can charge, can power up, screen got crack anot, camera working anot, got reception problem anot.
