M1 using 4G or 3G at NEL

M1 had always been weak in NEL for 4G. normally at Serangoon and Kovan MRT station, you hardly can surf at 4G. Today I try 3G and it work fine. I would suggest using 3G in NEL instead of 4G.

Ya but 3G is much slower vs 4g
Bottom line is m1 will boost its 4g on NeL line

Today I tested again with 3G. I can play Viu streaming without any lag from Dhoby Ghuat mrt to Kovan mrt. With 4G, it surely will lag greatly at little India, Serangoon and Kovan.

For me, 3G speed is surely better than 4G speed in NEL. 4G can't even surf at little India, Serangoon and Kovan.

Reason is there is no 4G signal in the tunnel. So 3g will be the better choice. But anyone realises that the Starhub signal is real bad even though is 3g. Tried to stream Kiss92 during my ride but will always get DC. Tried with my M1 phone no issues

There is M1 4G inside all the rail lines.
IMDA statistics showed M1 have >95% in-tunnel 4G coverage for all major rail lines, except Changi Airport Line (that line no operator exceed 90% threshold).

Problem is I think M1 4G isn't optimised inside the NEL train tunnel, unlike M1 3G in the tunnel.

Other rail lines have fully operational M1 3G/4G in most/all parts of the rail line, including data services.

i sometimes have to take the NEL from HBF to Kovan. in between can say 80% of the time the 4G sucks major.

Yes M1 4G sux big time in NEL MRT line from approaching Serangoon, Kovan, Hoagang and sometimes Buangkok also. Big disappointment. Also inside NEX Serangoon mall there are a few blank spot areas especially upper levels. Although showing 4G with few bars but no data flowing. Even can't receive WhatsApp messages. Tested with more than 1 phone already.

in NEL, singtel still best

Better think of jump ship when u able
No use complains as the nEL Slow poke is being for years

That why when my m1 was up I jumped last years

Now left my m1 fibre when it up I will cancel and save cost as I got another fibre at home too

Hope any telco comes out a budget fibre like 19.90 no need epic speed just 100mb also happy

Not as bad alr. Used it during off-peak hours network running pretty fine. Not very sure about peak hours cause rarely take NEL.

Last I try on Cl flexy in mine ip7 vs singtel postpaid in ipx
On Nek I could say it has improved greatly but if u fussy type stick to singtel better as singtel improved too but overall I will consider CL as to me it’s has improved to a deg which is acceptable for me before was ggg
