Some people just have too much free time to come here to stir a hornet nest. i believe a lot of us use a variety of products. i use mac, iphone, samsung phone, windows laptop, etc.... those that stick to one type of products and use misinformation on others r really narrow-minded.

Both. And CONSTRUCTIVE debate is welcome but when someone who has never used a mac before goes around spreading fake news based on YouTube videos that’s a totally different ball game.

Which is fake news as many ppl who have actually used macs have pointed out, they have 16 or even 8 GB machines with no issues. I myself have had video encoding in the background on a 16 GB Intel MBP while my browser is running YouTube and im working on a spreadsheet.

And a 16GB machines is way too overkill for anyone’s grandma’s computer unless some random granny decides to run Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro or Xcode while doing other stuff.

And there are newbies around and the last thing we want is for them to read fake news & go oh wow so 16 GB is only enough for ah ma so i need at least 24 GB so maybe Mac isn’t that suitable since M4 Pro mac mini w default 24 GB costs significantly more than base M4.

Why does this triggers you? I think you have an unhealthy obsession with defending Apple products a.k.a. fanboyism.

You could simply point out that particular youtube review was A PRO or POWER user's POV that is not typical of an AVERAGE CASUAL user.

That's eventually what I think leads to: the upsell to Mac Studio for power users.

Apple fanboys love to be milked like cows. AAPL may be a better buy than M4 Mac.
I'm not an Apple sheep and will never be locked in by any ecosystem. So if you can't handle being pushed back a little, don't start a thread.

I believe the delivery timelines for M4 Mac Minis are pushed to Dec due to tremendous orders. I shall sit back and wait till someone is so triggered enough to post here how strong the M4 Mac Mini base model is at handling daily tasks.

To understand the problems with M4 Mac Minis. It's not a perfect product. I don't mind the debate so far. I actually can see how or where I underestimate M4 Macs since Windows OS is less optimised to the hardware (Microsoft makes more money from Office and Azure cloud thus spends more effort there).

I shall sit back and wait till someone is so triggered enough to post here how strong the M4 Mac Mini base model is at handling daily tasks.

Unless your daily tasks involve some intensive video editing, graphics design, heavy gaming or crazy data crunchy, you wouldn’t have an issue even getting a M1 Mac mini to do your surfing of the net, watching YouTube videos, etc.

I don’t think there’s any product out there that can be perfect.

there will always be a trade-off. But for the price, the value is there.

if you want to engage on specific points to discuss, happy to do so. But if you intend to have long posts, or keep having reviews and videos thrown in without tl;dr, nobody would have time to go through it to give a point by point response.

For simple uses cases (Web browsing, Media Streaming, home base learning, Office), I think it should be fine if the user is willing to spend a bit of time to learn.

On the other hand, my 12-year old daughter does not like my Mac Mini M1, even though she has no issues with Chromebook (for School work) and iPad. She just switched to use Windows 11 without issues as well.

Personally I am OS neutral, using Mac Mini M1, my laptop and desktop are both using dual boot (Windows 11 and Ubuntu Linux).
