I seldom hear of people using a Mac for gaming. Is it because the GPU is only good for video and not gaming?
To have a Good Gaming on Mac.
It requires a few things.
1st - The Hardware GPU.
Most basic models for Mac are still using the Intel IGPU.
Not issue for AAA Games on High Setting.
2nd - The Games Engines.
The Mac OSX still uses an OUTDATED OPENGL & OPENCL.
Their OSX El Capitan 10.11
Metal is to replace the aged OPENGL.
Games Developers have to learn and recode the game engines.
Putting more man powers into productions.
3nd - Games in general.
Games Developers, Publisher, Distributor in the end like to see Good Sales for their Games.
Sadly the Games sold on Mac is still not even 1/4 of the people play on Windows PC.
So they don't even bother to Mac.
I'm a Mac User.
I had a Mac Mini late 2012 model.
I also had a Hackintosh as well and I do play games on them.
Most of the games are Blizzards and Steam Mac Games.
Sadly Blizzards new OVERWATCH in NOT Mac supported due to the game engines and the GPU requirements.
