Hi all,

I need urgent help.

I've accidentally deleted off my mac mail POP3 account when trying to swap to IMAP, and all emails are gone now

I didn't enable time machine so there was no backup done.

Is there any local company who specialise in such data recovery or any one use before a 3rd party application which I can try?

From what I know, default POP3 will only sent once to client and will delete away from server.

Most likely all your mail is stored in your computer. You should able to recover your mail if you didn't clear any of the data.

What client you are using?

The POP3 account was deleted via Mail>Preference> Remove.

After which the mails are gone.

I'm asking on behalf of a friend, don't have the mac mail version now.
Furthermore, the same account (POP3) was then re-created by him about 5 minutes ago.

I assume that since the same account was created, even if there are files in the Mac, it will be overwritten?

Your friend using the stock OS X mail am I right?

Likely the mail will be overwritten since the database are kept on email ID. I'm not very sure with mac stock mail behaviour.

Well, your friend already created the email account.. Might be too late to save him.. Was gonna to ask you check the mail server to be sure if any email is stored in.

Go to Finder > "Cmd + Shift + G" > Type without quote "~/Library/Mail/V2/"

Good luck
