Anyone knows if the mac mini is going to be refreshed soon? I am planning to use it as HTPC so that I can stream video from the net instead of using the andriod IPTV. Any suggestions or advice please?

If you just want to serve as HTPC, current version is also fine.
Can also upgrade it yourself to add SSD etc. :)
Note that the Mac Mini don't have build-in CD drive any more.

Thanks for your reply. Read from the net that the prices for Mac mini dropped in EU a month ago but there is still no news of new Mac mini. As I plan to use it mainly to stream videos from the net, I don't really need a CD drive. Was hoping to get the lower price of a Mac mini when the new one come out or a latest one with better graphics capabilities.

Are you using one for HTPC too? If yes, is PLEX or XBMC a better option?

For 1080p the current mac mini will do, in fact, I'm running a core 2 duo mac mini bought a few years back and is still streaming fine. I use plex by the way.
