Am on High Sierra 10.13.1 and I've noticed for a long time now (keep forgetting to post) that even though I have clicked "check for updates automatically", Java never does so and I have to manually check every once in a while.

Anyone else having this issue?

Why leh? Some website require it.

Oh nothing, just surprised that someone actually still uses Java Applets...
Run through the websites that require it again, and if they have HTML5 alternatives, consider removing Java entirely from your Macintosh.
