Macbook 12 spacebar problem

the left side of the spacebar is working fine.
but the right side does not respond. seems to be stuck or damaged.

Called Alab they say 130bux for diagnostics alone
Free key cap replacement if keycap is the issue
but if is the keyboard issue need >500 bux to replace the entire keyboard.

Any bros got similar issue?
how did you resolve?

is there some cheaper alternatives??
dont make sense to spend so much for a spacebar leh.

It's out of warranty?

I've a slightly problematic key too. Sent to QCD... they're taking a very, very, long time to fix.

Sound like an expensive repair bill if done at Apple.

As per article, even Apple does not replace the key but the entire set due to the fragility of the new keyboard mechanism

Apple store lead time is a week, but also depends on the severity of repair..

should send to apple store instead.

Yeah, but I don't think anyone will repair just a key as well. Usually it's the whole keyboard that is replaced.

I know of a trick using wd40 to make keyboards work, but if it's a stuck key or a broken key, no miracle..

wah GG No spacebar the macbook also half gone.
mayb can reprogram one of the shift keys to become a space bar???
