Macbook Air 128GB enough?

Hi guys,

Is 128gb Macbook air enough for uni?

Can give me the breakdown of how much OS X and boot camp will be take up? then the remaining space how much?

Currently the max SD card size is 128gb right? Can fit into macbook air anot?

Bootcamp windows 7 home premium is at least 32G, and since you cannot use your OS X partition in windows, you have to allocate more space in your windows partition.

Can't remember how much space OS X uses.

SDXC 128G from Sandisk goes for a whopping 255 SGD. You can use it for the MBA, but you are better off getting 2 x 1TB portable HDD instead for that price. That way, you can format 1 of them to NTFS, and the other to HFS+

I would format the entire HDD to exFAT so it can be read by both Mac and Windows.

Thanks for the info, my HDD is NTFS heh. Using Paragon for Mac NTFS atm. I'm gonna format to exFAT for both windows and Mac use.

For exFAT format , can save a single file of more than 4 gb ?

Suggest you to get the 256SSD MacAir better if you want to install to run Window OS. For 128gb SSD will be a bit tight.

You in what course? My friend in HR course used MBA MacOsX no problem.

98GB free is possible because MacOsX installation space is lower.

I initally wanna bootcamp but after I used I find mac os serve my needs in office & photoshop
what's lack is gaming whch I got my epic window desktop to stand in hahha

You are right. After switching to my imac, i no longer "play" games. Only can do so on my windows laptop but after some period of time, quit gaming. Dunno if that is good or bad.
I think i became more efficient.

Would the MBA be sufficient? I'm guessing I'll only be dealing heavily with powerpoints and excel sheets.

Another concern I have is that, does MBA heat up very fast doing the above^ processes? I have no exp at all with all effective the cooling system of the macbooks are. :/

On windows, I already gave up gaming. I think I getting old liao games are no longer that attractive to me, and sometimes honestly feels like a waste of my time. I prefer read fiction books. *nerd alert*

more than enough, you can carry external usb 3.0 (64gb) if you feel it's not enough. at least in the event your ssd decides to fails on you, you don't lose everything. Another way is you could sync your cloud storage (dropbox) in 1 of your thumbdrive.
