Is Macbook Air or Macbook Pro good for Uni? I like Macbook Pro personally because of its display, but i can't decide which to get because of Macbook Pro's ports :( Is it worth it though.......

What's the course will you be enrolling into?
Would the software which course use be compatible with a Mac?
If not, would you be willing to spend time to look for workarounds?

I highly recommend reading up on these before deciding on a MacBook.

MBA is enticing because of the price. Im personally using MBA at work. Its mighty sufficient for all my tasks (photoshop, excel, ppt, words, and lots of open chrome tabs). No signs of slowing.
Note that storage is only 128gb if u are on budget. I pay for Google Drive, so dont need that storage on MBA.

Because it is a cheap mac, I found joy in using it as I dont need to baby it. I throw it around, run down the battery without care for the charge cycle. Scratches on the covers are of no issues at all.

At home, I use a macbook 12". It is noticeably slower and lags even when using google maps in chrome. Doing travel planning and research on the 12" macbook is a chore. Definitely wont be recommend the 12" macbook.

I also recently bought a Macbook Pro 13" without touchbar. Perfection.
Do note that MBA does NOT have retina screen. You can see the difference. Is it worth topping up $600 for retina screen (pro vs air)? Probably not.
But it is worth topping up for the design alone. MBA silver bezels are HUGE!

TLDR Go for the Pro because it looks much nicer.

$600 isn't just for the retina display. there are much more to that.

Ultimately still depends on TS. Personally using Macbook for my Uni, works perfectly fine other than the screen I have to complain. Retina still best.

Personally used MacBook Pro. Truth is that unless you plan to do power work / have need of heavy functions, a macbook air will do. but preference is up to you. Macbook Air is much lighter and sleek.
