Macbook demo set can be considered as an activated product. All Apple devices for demos are all activated by store Apple ID in which its registered as a store etc. Some smaller shops use their own Apple ID.
In the event you bought an activated set, you need to contact AppleCare and furnish your receipt for them to adjust the coverage accordingly. However, its gonna be tedious I let you know first.

I remembered last time I registered my new product only go online and enter receipt number and date of receipt . Very tedious meh?
