Need an advice from you guys..
Owning a MacBook Pro late 2011 with damage to screen (not crack). Considering the following options:
1) Repair at Apple Shop @ $500+
2) Repair at those 3rd party shop @ $250
3) Buy a new one

My usage is basically very minimum. Sync my iPhone and iPad, surf simple net and that is.

What do you guys think?

4. Move iPhone and iPad to iCloud so that backups are managed by Apple. Surf net on iPad.

Or maybe consider a second hand unit (with warranty)

Does iCloud allow more than 40GB of photos?

If no need to move around just attach to external monitor and use like a desktop

Repair for $250 sounds okay. Unless you have the budget to get a new laptop, then do so?

Personal POV.

best to check the extent of the damage, at the apple shop. If its just screen, then risk of repairing at 3rd party shop doesn't seem to much, but if its related to internal damage then perhaps repair at apple shop in case of anything!

$500+ bit expensive but i think that if you repair and it lasts then its fine! My laptop is also the 2011 model, been using since 2012 and its still doing very well, if you take care I'm sure can last long. Don't risk any 3rd party messing up the laptop!
