macbook pro 2014 version low transmit rate

Anyone knows how to increase the transmit rate of the wifi?
i have the macbook pro 13 inch retina 2014 version
my transmit rate is only 88
i have my router in the living room and i am in the second room away from the router.
any ideas how?
