Help guys!

My Macbook Pro can't connect to Wifi. It says no hardware installed.

I've tried searching online and tried to reset System Management Controller (by pressing Control + Shift + Option + Power keys) but it still does not work.

Anyone has got any ideas how to fix this?

It happened suddenly after I tried restarting the macbook one day - did not drop it or move it before it became undetectable.

How much would it charge to fix?

Cheers!!

If you are able to find a replacement card (at most $20), you will be able to replace it easily.
I have a spare wifi card for MBP 2011. Just too bad it is suitable only for 2011 and not earlier.

Mine died too. Tried asking around, $150 for repair.

I got ST to pull a UTP from my living room to my room citing that I want to use the MioTV in my room.

After they left, I removed the MioTV and plugged in an AP and then another wire to my MBP.

Seems this issue is quite norm in 2010 13" MBPs.

Same Mac same problem as mine. Replaced 4 years ago but now died again.

Asus has some compatible dongle. Dlink doesn't.

Agreed. Changing the aiport is quite tedious, have to remove a lot of things.

Are you referring to the wifi internal card? Tedious meh? Don't scare me leh: if just ordered a wifi card upgrade for my mid-2012 MBA & from the instructions on the site (http://www.quickertek.com/manuals/QCardManualMBAWeb.pdf) like not that challenging.

If you wanna play safe & get an USB dongle, perhaps you can try:
http://www.quickertek.com/products/ACNano.html

But take note, this is what the vendor from that site told me:
There are several key differences
Qcard is 802.11ac and bluetooth le
Uses the Apple driver software and native
driver that come with Mac's
Internal card nothing sticks out of computer
The installation is very easy.
All USB devices (radios) require third party driver
installation and some don't work with 10.11 or 10.10.
Not all USB devices 3x3.
We have both but Qcard for you is much better solution

Anyway, I hope you find a dongle that works for you. If you find a nice dongle that can hit high AC speeds, do feedback to the forum so we can all benefit.

Thanks you.

See below link for airport card replacement for mid-2010 MacBook Pro.

I removed everything, reseated the wifi-card, didn't work.

Surprisingly, the Mac can still boot up :s13:

Just changed my WIFI card for Mac Book Pro Mid 2009. Dead card was a 607-4147A. Replaced with a 607-4144A. All working well.

Knowadays on Taobao finding a brand new card is difficult as stocks are low and all price above 200 yuan. Even when you see those cheap cards like 85 yuan, seller won't sell you unless you pay 200 yuan :s22:

Lucky for me i found a seller for second hand but not cheap also, 120 yuan($26SGD dmg but worthwhile). When i bought that time he got only two stocks left. So can still try see if he has. This is the link cheers.
