I have a mid 2010 macbook pro.. should I upgrade the HDD to ssd and get additional ram? Usage only browsing web and office work..

Or it's better to just get a new laptop/macbook?

If your battery is still working fine (I assume you're using it on the go) - just go for the SSD and RAM upgrade. Not terribly expensive and the SSD will make your MBP much faster. I estimate an upgrade to a 250GB SSD and 2x4GB RAM upgrade to be around $200 bucks in total if you do your research online on prices. Did the upgrades myself on my MBP 2011 and have had no issues so far. (I used MacSales.com's upgrade instructions on youtube to DIY)

u need to remove all the screws at the bottom with a phillips screwdriver, RAM just plug and play
the problem is the hard disk. it has brackets that are locked with special screws

u will need this to remove the hard disk: penelobe/torx screwdriver

can lend u.. but u ownself come my hdb block
u just bring the hard disk with the bracket, unscrew already, screw to the new ssd then zao

It is always highly recommend to upgrade to SSD. I'm currently using MB 2008 unibody. It was unusable, but I can do some video editing using final cut pro, and has been my primary machine for professional design work.

DIY the upgrade yesterday.

Total cost around $130. $110 for samsung 250gb 850 evo and screwdriver etc at 17 from simply mac

i install windows 7 using bootcamp and manage to upgrade to windows 10. (direct bootcamp installation of windows 10 is unsupported for mid 2010 macbook pro)

When my mac power on it automaticlly boot to windows.. anyway to have the selection screen beside having to press option button?
