Hi all. read through some of the posts here and there're a few questions before i proceed to upgrade my MBP's ram and HDD to SSD. Went to SLS today to look at prices too. Please help thanks!
Macbook details:
MBP 13", Early 2011.
Usage: Web browsing, Photoshop and Illustrator, Spotify
RAM
1a) Is there a significant difference between 8GB and 16GB ram upgrade? Amazon seemed to have cheap ram as compared to SLS. For (2 x 8GB), Amazon after shipping (USD$50) VS SLS (SGD$138). Any downsides to buying through Amazon like warranty problems?

2) SLS guys recommended Trancent SSD370 (512GB) over Samsung 850 Evo (500GB). SLS Trancent (SGD$243) VS Amazon Samsung Evo (USD$158). Your opinions?. Again, any downsides from buying from Amazon like warranty issues?

Data Porting from old HDD to new SSD
3a) MrMundy mentioned: "and u will need an enclosure to connect the ssd to ur mac externally via usb for copying" is it necessary to use an enclosure?
3b)Correct me if my details are wrong
Step 1: Download SuperDuper
Step 2: Connect new SSD and use Superduper to clone HDD to SSD
Step 3: Remove HDD and Install new SSD
That's all?
3c) I have photoshop and illustrator. But the programs were installed by a friend many years ago. I am unsure if it's genuine or not. After cloning everything to the new SSD, will Adobe request for the CD key again? Can't afford to lose the program.
3d)If there's no sure answer to (3c), can i still use my old HDD as an external HDD to run the photoshop program? If yes, how do i do so? My concern is, the HDD has the mac OS in it so it's not exactly like an external HDD. Can i still pluck the HDD in and access my photoshop program?
