2011 model ? Has this issue, 100% hardware related

Yes, 2011 model. Just 1 year ago, they have replaced the logic board due to similar issues. So fast uplorry again ah?

I reset the pram and for now, the flickering stops. But only during start up, the white screen has a white colourful line across.

Try connecting to an external display.
If that works well, then could be a monitor issue.
If it doesnt, then definitely a GPU issue.

Both issues independently worth fixing. Both together, not worth.
Use the opportunity to buy a new one.

If you want, I can help you fix. PM me.

The repair costs just doesn't justify enough and 2011 model is already very old. I had a 2010 model before its HDD gave up and also randomly shuts off whenever I change graphics, hence bought the 2015 one and used until now.

I suggest just get a new MBP and don't have to worry for some time. The touchbar is pretty cool too.

Hijack for a bit, I’m having a similar issue with my MacBook Pro 2009 13 inch. Connect to external display no issue. Suspect inverter cable problem, wondering if I could get it anywhere?

Anyone have an issue with their macbook keyboard? sometimes cant even hit a certain button in a row. Do let me know if you have any solution other than sending it for servicing.
