But that's provided Maige uses cloud services to host. Since IPTV is grey area, they are likely to use their own servers (complete with air-con etc), instead of using cloud.

If so, it doesnt make sense to continue operating the servers, unless they have intention to continue.

It's not ex too, around A$21-25 a year, and you can use up to 3 locations (eg own home and in-laws).

Surviving on Kodi add-ons (Phoenix, Genesis, AZdrama) and HDP/VST now, but I do miss the live Astro and TVBs...... Hopefully Maige will recover by Christmas!

I tried it on thursday night using that dns4me to access the VST, and i experience problem again. Some like 飞虎2 can work. If i watch Lord of Shanghai new one, it load a few secs then afterward blackscreen with the drama sound. Not sure if this is a new type of censoring to prevent people using china apps. By right i am using 1gbps so should be able access smoothly if source is available. So tink i will abandon all free china apps for now until there is a solution to it and continue to survive on ubox live channels and kodi. Stop using the DNS4me for now too, seems it don't work for me too.

By the way, anyone know if PureVPN is good? I saw that it is quite cheap also. Also have us$69 lifetime deal.

Some unsubstantiated "insider info" from Baidu forums:

They started their business to service those internet cafe. Year 2008 sued by tvb copyright holder in China for distribution of tvb drama via their server

Sunday (13Dec2015) night I still can access the movies (though the TV listing is empty), last night 14Dec2015, can't even connect to server.... same with everyone here?

Already said that the brand is already smelly, nobody will buy anymore thus it's not feasible for them to carry on.

It's the law that outrights them causing them to disappear.
How can they bend the law?

Throughout, they have more than enough time to shift their servers overseas but they didn't. If they have a solution, it would had solved long ago.

Actually if you think about it, Maige's main market isn't China.
It's for overseas users, PRCs staying outside China, Expats staying in China.

Their servers shouldn't be only in China in the first place.

There must be a way to program the box to become a normal android box.


Blardy Maige, before they uplorry should just at least keep this option open than quietly go dead.

Need find programmer? Inside is running on linux right? How to change it to android?

Anyone know how to install back the "chinesetv" app in the ubox ub market? After i reset mediabox it seems that not there anymore. Previously it was missing from ub market for several days but still under the apps section. Now it is totally not there.
