All IPTVs providers have their ups and downs, but you will know who can weather thru the storm and provide the same services without changing boxes or even apk. No IPTVs can provide 100% uptime, it just how much one's can torelate their downtime.
Seller who just sell TV boxes of different brands with their so called 1 year hardware warrantly depends on CONTENTS providers. If certain contents providers cease to exist, there will always be another one. Much depends on the price and quality. In fact you can make your own andriod TV box too.
Since Maige TV was down 3 weeks ago. I learnt alot of andriod tv box by going to Sim Lim Square. Andriod TVapps requires mainly the decoder of your hardware able to support and CPU power. As long as you have a tablet with quad core, you should be able to view the various channel from shafa market and installing its app.
I've a old Acryan Quad core 7.9 tablet. bought a mini HDMI cable, display on TV and install various apps I saw on sim lim square. Yeah get to see the free skysport EPL on my TV.
For those who buy branded tv box like AMCONICS | MINIX and subscribe cloudtv thru them. My advise better go cloudtv.bz and subscribe yourself and you can use it at 2 devices. If you let others to do the subscription, your device with the MAC ID will be bind to them. Next time you renewal you no choice have to go them because your MAC ID being bind by their account. Better subscribe yourself.
From my own personal experiences Maige TV is suitable for those wants hassle-free, especially for your parents or you who just wanna go watch local or oversea channels. No vendor can claim they are best in providing these services. You can also bring overseas watch it anywhere as long as you have internet connect... starhub\singtel can't.
I was with Singtel for 3 years. When they tried to sign you up, they give you a lot of so call good programs and even EPL...and it was cheap at less than $40/= But every year they keep on delete the so called old channels and put in new channels which your old package doesn't comes with, so your viewing channel gets less and less until there comes a time it becomes pointless because every latest program need to subscribe add ons. It can cost you at least $70 per month just to watch sports and some general channels. Even worse, other cost like Internet you must stay with the same ISP especially those on cable,fiber or even for some using ADSL to watch. You can easily hit $1000 a year just for your enterainment TV box channel excluding internet charges.
People who thinks subscribing to Maige TV for $400 is expensive needs to think about the great cost saving. Actually if you can use this box for half year, you already get back the cost of subscribe thru Singtel\Starhub. Just remember by pay annual for 120dollar or 10 dollars a month, you get almost getting services like Starhub or SIngtel miotv. If you look at it this way, you won't be so piss off by the cost of the device and subscription of maige tv.
Nevertheless I was also abit unhappy with Maige TV for downtime, who won't as I also thought they have backup infrastructure that if somewhere goes down, another place will be up in no time etc. But I think if not because of this incident, I won't be learning so much about andriod TV box. I believe people like relacker can improve his customer services even by setting up forums etc.. to inform his customers because by staying off the radar, you will be forcing people to buy or renew subscription somewhere else. I also saw some people advising other people to sell off the Maige device on the cheap because of frustration. It's like robbing people during fire. Sometime we need to ask ourselves, if maige device are so bad, why still have people trying to buy in on the cheap
