No, Malaysia is safer.

They still have pirated DVDs peddling outside police station.

In fact, Maige should have more than enough capital to shift their operations overseas, to allow more servers.

I don't think anyone can guarantee won't shut down, just a matter of how resilient is their operation.

One thing is for sure, IPTV can't be operated in China much longer.
Providers have to seek ways to shift their servers overseas.

from wat i know, taobao or those temp stalls selling in sg, one time payment wif no yearly sub. tat guy in sg i ask him, if i buy today but service shut down in one or two months time, he say he refund wat half year, cos he say guarantee work for a year.
taobao side, they say no yearly sub, but live channel may go down any time. so now hope later i go market, can see tat guy, go test see if his live channel working or not.

i only need live tv for tvb channel. the rest of those channels i seldom watch, except for wwe every month ppv and those canto movie channel. worst comes, use laptop watch live tvb from tvb website

From HK forum
"Got an update
1. Maige is not dead and won't shut down.
2. Service for boxes outside mainland China will be restored probably within 1 week. At least for boxes purchased from us.
3. We might get lucky and unlock our mainland China boxes as well. Not sure here though."

cindy from maigetv.com replied this to me :

Dear Customer!

The Maige TV service is experiencing server problems at the moment. This affects the live channels, VOD content should work fine.

It’s being worked on, but it might 1 week until the issue is completely solved. For some channels and locations it might happen sooner though.

We apologize for the problems.

Yap, got the same reply from Cindy. So far they have been quite reliable and prompt to my replies. Pray for the best and hope the boxes in China can be restored as well else when i am there next month, will have nothing to watch.
