Haha heng ah, i have abandoned maige tv already....

when will maige have update, now just start watching 烈火雄心， finish re watching 5 seasons of walking dead also. wan to have nothing to watch liao. dun wan pay for a new yearly sub from hdtv than maige up, than really wasted liao

Now my maige tv box already kept in plastic bag. Soon it will be archive in the box permanently...hahaha

Maige TV service have many legal problems at moment for now service is closed down..

We apologize for the problem and will try resume service for New Year 2016 onwards .

Many Chinese IPTV Suppliers are being closed down due to new IPTV Law in China

Read that this maigetv.tv is just a reseller and don't know much.
Anyway in early October it was down, they said that it will come up after 2 weeks of down.
It went up for less than 2 days then down again.

Then they said that it will resume in early November, mid November, 26th November then finally early december.
Now they say wait till new year, which may mean Chinese News Year in Feb 2016.

This IPTV is illegal today, tomorrow and in many years to come. The law won't change.

They claimed that they had been shifting their servers overseas. It's already 3 months. How long it needs them to do that?
The brand is dead, likewise for their business and the service.

Does tvpad have same issue?

Have a TVPad 3, the apps no issues streaming TVB and sports channel. But read on TVPadtalk forum that cannot update firmware and apps unless change DNS.

Those affected one are TVPad 4 as the IPTV apps are .apk and TVPad 4 is GVOS now can use both .apk and .PKG files.

I can't even set Astrill on UB.

Not sure is it doable.

UB is alright with live TV for most channels i frequent.

The problem is getting decent and reliable VOD.

Watched the 新闻透视, but never recorded it.

In summary, it's about how OTT TV boxes as a disruptive technology is threatening terrestrial broadcasters and cable TV operators as their content revenue is "robbed" by these unauthorized OTT services.

It was mentioned that authority in India raided an OTT service providers that provide IPTV service and OTT TV boxes to customers in UK, US and Australia. The 81 list of China IPTV streaming app providers was also mentioned, that China authority is clamping down on.

新闻透视 reporter also toured SSP electronic malls to show that rampant selling of OTT boxes. Can see from the hidden can that most shops there are selling Ubox gen2, Maige, mi TV box and LeTV box.

In a segment, TVB's technology chief demoed an Ubox gen 2 and was impress by the picture quality however there was momentarily freezing of the streamed video.

There was an interview with a lawyer from HK, he mentioned it is difficult to arrest the syndicates and mastermind as their operations are worldwide and arrest can be made difficult by different law in different countries. Even arrest is to made, another syndicated can take over the OTT infrastructure and rebrand it, so the cycle will continue.

During end of 新闻透视, the presenter mentioned instead of terrestrial broadcasters and cable operators requesting the authorities to clamp down on OTT providers and viewing OTT as a disruptive technology, he suggests both group can work together as OTT can provide terrestrial broadcasters a wider audience and advertisers can reach out to more targeted customers.
