I can't even set Astrill on UB.

Not sure is it doable.

UB is alright with live TV for most channels i frequent.

The problem is getting decent and reliable VOD.

You dont need UB for decent and reliable VOD. Genesis, 1channel, AZdrama etc can carry out that part v well.......

when i install kodi in ubox 2, already got 1channel under kodi leh...azdrama dont have.

You dont need UB for decent and reliable VOD. Genesis, 1channel, AZdrama etc can carry out that part v well.......

Manage to install azdrama. Now watching the last night episode drama now. No jerky and patchy very good.

Great that you manage to locate azdrama. For those unaware, it can be found in the repository dk-xbmc-repaddon. Just google for the zipped download.

For Kodi, Genesis, 1 Channel, Phoenix and azdrama are my favourite links. I hardly use other add-ons......

With genesis and 1channel have almost complete set of sources. Now add on azdrama. Don't know any other hk drama/movies apps available. Tink azdrama is more for latest drama. Just now i click on 澳门风云 fail...canot load maybe no source.

checking if anyone is interested.

I bought the Unblock Tech TV box from the official website last week at HKD919.
After receiving it, i realised it can only output 4k @ 30hz.

Looking to sell it at $150 (only 1 week of us). If anyone is interested, please PM me.

I'll most probably going to buy the Nvidia Shield from Amazon instead - it supports 4k @ 60hz.

The apps in Shafa Market, notably VST, have a good list of Asian dramas/movies, but streaming can be patchy especially during peak period.

Another shafa app, HDP, is good for live China channels, such as Voice of China etc. If you look at Shafa market's top ranking video apps, HDP and VST are always among the top 5.

Vst also restricted to china leh...when i click, so long the source is from tudou or youku etc it will stop streaming. It throttle. Not sure if vpn can counter this problem

You can use an app called "engelsiz" to change your DNS to China based, but I havent tried it myself.

I just tried the free version. It canot work. Same china still restrict.

Anyway I subscribe to a DNS unblocking service called DNS4me (AUD 20.99 per year), which is supposed to unblock Youku, Sohu etc. But sometimes, it cant work also lah....
