Hi guys, I was trying out the mail app on my Macbook Pro and noticed that the Mail app is syncing all my E-mails right from the very first one!

Is there any option to make it in such a way like Iphone where it will automatically delete away messages in the device (but not deleting the actual mail in the database)?

Thanks!

Thanks, but this isn't what I'm looking for.

The link shows how the mail can be deleted (from the server copy, i.e. in Hotmail) through the Mail app.

But what I'm looking for is for the Mail app in my macbook to not sync the old E-mails and also automatically delete the new mails pushed to my Mac after certain days without deleting it in the server.

I am not sure if Hotmail supports this feature but on Gmail you can set to download the most recent 1000 email on the website and it will apply for Apple Mail.

I see, it worked pretty well for me on iPhone so I was assuming it can work on my Mac... :s22:

Main reason for this is just to saye up disk space on my devices.
