Isn't that what citizens are asking for? More help for the poor, the old, the marginalised, for those with other needs ?

So we should be happy that the government is beginning to listen and now willing to spend more on these areas?

they have been getting new citizen for many years of course those people are voting pap. Taking Punggol East for example...lost by a few thousand votes...those could vote lost to new citizen.

Then those extra 10% won in pap wards could also be attribute to new citizens... few hundred thousand new citizen all over the country those 10k-20k votes won by pap all came from there.

it's on ELD site, you only get to vote if you are a citizen before the prescribed date for generation of list of electors which is in February

It's extensive wastage for the sake of elections. There is no overarching stand on these social spending. They just burn the money coz it is election year.
