Oh this is a good initiative. Would be good,

It can convert cheaper dual-SIM phones to support eSIM, allowing users to enjoy the benefits of eSIM without needing to replace their phones to higher-end models. iirc, the cheapest eSIM capable phone was the Pixel 4a, the rest of them being flagships.

One caveat I can see is that users may wish to opt for 256GB models of their phones instead, as they would most likely be sacrificing their memory card slots for many phone options. However, there are 2+1 phones that give them the best upgradeability.

The main caveat - price. It's really expensive. USD129.95 for the generix Android version is just shockingly expensive, although you can opt for the brand-specific ones at USD49.95 (still expensive imo), or USD29.95 for the 5-profile phone model "locked" options may be enough for most users.

PS: Would be interesting to see if they can physically transfer the SIM card to a new phone and retain their SIM profiles without needing to re-register. This assumes that users pay for the more expensive non-phone-specific models, I guess...
