I’ll tell u two true cases

Many years ago I met a security guard supervisor. We knew each other so we were like friend friend. He told me he got an offer to be a security guard in Cambodia and pay was like 3x what it was in Singapore. I was like Wah go la. This was 2015. No one heard of the scams yet. I met him a few years later (cos I resigned but I sometimes will meet up old colleagues), and he said he never took the offer cos like not worth it. I never knew what the company that offered the job was and whether he dodged a bullet or was foolish not to get the job

Another one is someone I knew from Indonesia. One day out of the blue she messaged me and said I am going to Cambodia to work. This was just last year. I was asking is it legit and she said it was legit cos her cousin was bringing her there. I was like a lot of red flags but I just said all the best cos we didn’t exactly knew each other that well so better not say things like is your cousin trustworthy or not- I have since lost contact with her and sometimes I wonder..

I remember viewing a TikTok sharing how a group of people near shop or petrol kiosk asking to see Singapore $$ notes and really dumb people obediently take out wallet and show, being scammed $$ just like that ? No sense of alert to any danger at all.

Think better avoid working with them. I will add them into my avoid list when looking for job. 1st in my list in work for motherland people and thong also in my list liao. 3rd is ang mo as they dun allow me to wear mask in office during one of my job interview.

Comparatively, Singapore is a very safe country, and Singaporeans do things according to the law.

In all countries, there is a Code of Law, sure enough, but there is also corruption. In some countries, the corruption is very bad. Some countries are also not safe. Many Singaporeans think that other countries are like Singapore, and other peoples are like them.

This case got attention because its a actor. Just imagine a commoner kena the same treatment. Nobody will hear anything about it. Humans are like a commodity in china , can be traded if u r rich and powerful.

Long long time ago already heard of if u rich enough to buy human organs, u can skip the queue in Singapore to wait for organ transplant. Go china there will be a ready organ for u.
