what he described is year 2030 to 2044 ... up to 20 years later
they want space-based infrared staring camera .... these technology exist since the cold war .... now they are done by companies such as L3harris
to provide early warning not just for ballistic missile or nuclear warfare on their own country ......... but what happens in other countries ....... example having their own advance warning on start of ww3 or nuclear exchange without needing the info to come from diplomatic channels from USA
other technology they interested in counter-anti-sat ........ currently USA strategy to this is not to armor each sat until fortress but to increase the number and make them have propulsion to be slightly maneuverable
they also want ground-based missiles to take out incoming hostile missiles
threadstarter or SCMP anyhow write until as if the missiles they want to be based in space and launched from space downward to earth ... violating the Outer Space Treaty of 1967

Anwar coddling up to China and pissing off the West, and now the tiong money doesn't come in while we don't hear anymore about simi new Western investments or updates on those announced.
Even the Singapore Special Economic Zone, they so fugging greedy want this want that and now we postpone the signing of the agreement yet another time.
End up if they insist on their way it will die like Labuan or Iskandar.
So now - rinse and repeat - their officials will "work on" some super expensive projects and make some money before the sky is changed and they are replaced, again.

it is not unreasonable to desire such a high tech system on the 1 century anniversary of ww2 on the peninsula
these technology were done by the 2 superpowers during the cold war
it's lower in price now , able to be done at much less than USD 100 million per satellite when serial production , problem is you cannot do it with a handful , you need a constellation of dozens .... total cost is easily billions excluding the R&D investment incrementally over decades .... you cannot do it with a few billion starting from zero technical foundation
china and japan use highly elliptical orbit on a handful of satellites to provide longer PNT converge over continental east asia .... but when the sat swing to high altitude it is not that useful for optical camera doing missile tracking ... this shortcut isn't viable
