went Club Med Finolhu Villas

both of us were delighted, if got spare cash will definitely go again

Club Med seem like quite family orientated, was thinking would it be like noisy with rowdy kids around

Centara is entry level, always have good deals for all-inclusive with transport (speedboat/domestic air)

My advise is to find:

All inclusive (bfast lunch dinner) usually tea break n evening canepe are provided too. Most impt, check the all inclusive includes water n alcoholic drinks. Yes, some all inclusive “excludes” these n I find it v sneaky.

U also can settle with half board (bfast n dinner) so u can have late bfast n skip lunch. But if the difference is not big, then I think is better to go all inclusive.

Some all inclusive also include mini bar n refill daily, some include free 30mins massage and 1 activity. So all depends on the t&c n type of promo.

For me there was this time at Sheraton, I book v early at x price but when the date get nearer, the price drop a lot. I had to kp to get back the difference and in the end I got fed up n just cancel everything. It was a non refundable rate.

Finolhu Villas is adult only resort

3 years ago, i paid app $3.5k per pax

now i think app $2.7k per pax, thus $800 cheaper

all in inclusive of air tickets and airport transfer

Usually I use Kaligo to book for maldives because 10mpd n Maldives usually min $2000 for accommodation. I prefer w alcohol (children-free resorts)

that time i went was semi "buffet" style
4-6 stations with cook, each station has 3-4 items (appetizer, main, dessert)
eg jap station - sailfin sashimi, sushi, udon, matcha dessert

they will prepare upon ordering
some require more preparation time, the waiter will serve you
similar concept like the edge buffet at pan pac

their serving is very small, so you can easily try 8-10 items
i missed their cocktail, every day we tried about 6 different cocktail
didnt manage to try all of them

Is taxi service available from Male airport? Read from tripadvisor that it's not and one has to arrange transfer with hotel.

Male airport take taxi go where? hulhumale (island connected to airport)

Usually ppl arrange hotel pickup, hulhumale mostly guesthouse about 8-10usd/pax

Got public bus too 1usd/pax, the bus is same same like our smrt bus, no need scare lousy

Finally I saw the connecting bridge from airport to male city is in operation (from plane view). I also saw long q for transport n I assumed was for taxi.

I was gonna go but cancelled in end - that place is way too ex. Sea plane alone $600 usd per pax. No thanks

Not cheap but it’s really a fantastic place. Outs of this world experience. Even the plane should be seen as part of the fun. It’s an activity within itself
